Basic uclibc question (archive libraries)

I have been building uclibc for MIPS and I just noticed that I am 
only getting shared versions of libc and libm.  What config variables
do I need to set to get archive libraries as well as shared libraries?

I see the option for enabling shared libraries (HAVE_SHARED).  Does
enabling shared libraries mean you don't get archive libraries?  Can
you build both shared and archive libraries in one build?
