I don't think they tried.  Timesys is an embedded company, and although some 
customers do want GUIs for touchscreens and such, I don't think any of them 
have actually requested the ability to run OpenOffice on a gumstick.

Garrett would know more, though...

Never bet against the cheap plastic solution.
