getdents failures with uClibc/svn/mips

The problem (once I actually spent the time to investigate)
turned out to be that gcc 4.1.x was miscompiling glob()...
My recent efforts at hacking on glob fixed that, so mips is
working nicely now, even with gcc 4.1.x.
