busybox: vi & delete key

The delete key has never worked correctly in busybox's vi (or at 
least how I am used to it working).

Pressing delete while in insert mode swops capitalization of the 3 
characters at the cursor, and then exits insert mode.  Such a strange 
"feature".

I see that a patch was submitted last year (ID#00023) that supposedly 
fixes this.  It is marked as "fixed", but evidently it has cropped up 
again.

Has anyone else noticed this?
