Kbd disabled during boot?

I am running i486 uClibc-0.9.27, with bbox 1.01

I burn 2 CF's, one with glibc 2.3.4/Linux 2.4.31 the 2nd
with uClibc 0.9.27/same identical vmlinuz, and pretty much same
/etc, /dev, boot scripts, inittab and the rest.

Glibc version boots agetty tty1 and ttyS0 fine, but the uClibc
version shows VGA video during boot scripts (but no kbd), login
prompt displays at console and at ttyS0 terminal, but no kbd at
tty1 console...

Where should I look for the problem, anyone?
