[uClibc] profiling support alternatives?

I am interested in profiling applications
and libraries on a mipsel-linux uClibc system.

I have downloaded the FunctionCheck
profiler
http://sourceforge.net/projects/fnccheck/
but haven't had much luck getting it 
to work.  Has anyone had success with
it or another alternative?
