a) -- thanks to everyone who told me to use logread() -- RFTM -- right
!!
b) Funny thing however
I have one system (built by someone else and slightly different config
options (logger is on in my system not in his) and do the following:
syslogd -O/var/log/dog -C3
cat /var/log/dog
returns nothing on his system. (the /var/log/dog file is empty)
On my system it returns the log.
/bin# syslogd -O/var/log/dog -C3
/bin # cat /var/log/dog
Jan 1 00:11:32 syslog.info syslogd started: BusyBox v1.00

RESET_REQ
Jan 1 00:12:00 kern.warn kernel: [0][10][2][44652] nimSysResetReq:
Reason Code = 0x6
So ---> any explanation? This is why I thought syslogd was not
working. Maybe logger puts the information in the file?
