Certainly, glibc would be an option for me. However, I don't have 
immediately available something like the uClibc "buildroot" system to 
quickly build a runtime-only filesystem image (yeah, that's a weak 
excuse :-)). I'm using uClibc/busybox because I know they work well and 
will do everything I need, plus they will save a large amount of RAM 
compared to apps linked against glibc.
