[uClibc]uml and uClibc root_fs problems

I'm trying to use user-mode linux with the root_fs linked to on the main page
of www.uclibc.org (http://www.uclibc.org/downloads/root_fs-i386.bz2). After
unzipping it and renaming it to root_fs I run linux. Everything seems to go
fine until it stops at this line:

Starting PCMCIA services: module directory /lib/modules/2.4.19-5um/pcmcia not
found.

It goes no farther and my terminal is locked.

I'm running Mandrake 9.0 with the 2.4.19-16mdk kernel.
